The Glorious Phinney Gator Sharks team was created when two fledgling groups—the Grown-Up Gators and the Glorious Phinney Open Water Swimmers (which we were calling “the Sharks”)—combined forces and phyla to become the Gator Sharks.
Our Glorious Phinney roots are in a group of open-water swimmers, some have been swimming together for over 20 years! Currently only a few of these hardy sharks have joined the Grown-Up Swimming League but we continue to recruit from our large pod. For GPGS, the vibe is low-key, focused on friendships, time spent enjoying our beautiful lakes and mountain views, and keeping fit and healthy by doing what we love -- swimming!
Our captains are just getting the hang of this Grown-up Swimming thing, so please feel free to simply sign up for the team and see where the adventure takes you. We promise to welcome you with open fins and a big gator smile. At meets you’ll know us as the team with the green caps.
